Rutherford House Leaders Present Their Election Speeches

Jenna, Deputy Leader of Rutherford House

Ronwell, Rutherford House Leader

Anastasia, Rutherford House Leader.

Robbie, Rutherford House Deputy Leader
At the start of each year the Year 6 students prepare a speech and present it to the other students in their house. The leadership roles in our school have growing importance as we prepare young people for all kinds of leadership in their school and community. Leadership is a tough call especially when one is a child. Our teachers support and mentor the children as they learn about responsibility and role modeling. We know as adults that leadership means coping with mistakes and failure-personally I wish it was about being perfect but it is not. West Spreydon School wants to contribute to our local community by training young people as leaders. These young people were chosen as House Leaders and Deputy Leaders by their peers.
