We have an amazing PTA aka (TAKWSSF&W) who work behind the scenes as volunteers to provide extra treats and bells and whistles for our tamariki. They spent hours setting up, working and cleaning up so that the children could experience a very special end to the year. The sun shone in the last part of the day and man it was hot!
Every child had a bag of crisps, an ice block, a bbq sausage and a candy cane. Sheer luxury. You can imagine the work involved in getting all of that organised. Pauline organised the bouncy castles through CrossOver trust. Brilliant mahi.
We farewelled our Year 6 leavers too as we knew many would not be back on Monday. The Guard of Honour has become a tradition and it was mixed feelings to see our tamariki leave after their primary school years have come to an end with us. Looking at some of their photos taken when they were 5 was a shock. They really are babies when they start school and we have a huge responsibility for their welfare and safety as well as their learning. Leaving mum and dad for the first time is a biggy. Thank you to all of our whanau who have entrusted us with the care of your precious tamariki.
We wish you every blessing at Christmas and a very happy 2024 full of hope and promise.
