Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

Swimming Sports

 And we're off!

Gone are  the days when we had a slow lead up to the start of the year. Holy Smoke we hit the swimming pool running and it was heartening to see the daily swim sessions paying off. It is always funny to see that the Swimming Sports Virus kicks in for a day and then children come back the next. Lot's of children feel anxious about all manner of things and we need to help to walk them through it. Our kaiako organise a wide variety of events from just getting into the water to 2 lengths of competitive events. We can do this. It was a lovely 2 days and once again we had the support of volunteers to help make the events possible, and wonderful support from whanau for the children.

Our Student Leaders were amazing and their manaaki for the younger children was a heartwarming example of caring and helping. Thanks team and thank you Megan, Charlotte and their sports team for the organisation.
