Bike and Scooter Bosses, Wardens, Sheriffs, Constables, Officers ???????
We have a large group of students who give up morning tea and lunchtime to look after the bikes and scooters and to make sure that everyone can have a good time on the bike track. They tend to be a little forgotten amongst the leaders in our school and it’s time to celebrate them. Please remind your children that it’s not ok to give them a hard time and they need to be patient while the bikes and scooters are being signed out. Our children need to take good care of the bikes and scooters too please, as the bills for repair will be mounting. They can be really careless and throw the gear down or use the bikes and scooters too roughly. Steve Haase,one of our dad’s, is willing to undertake repairs for us. Nga mihi nui Steve.
Our fono hui was a lovely event. It was very special to see new whanau join us to celebrate their languages and cultures. The dinner was delicious and made up for the frustration of folks not being able to complete the Bingo challenge. The children had also prepared a Samoan Language video and it included the bloopers. When I say the children, I do mean our kaiako. Thank you to all of our kaiako who stayed until 7.30 last night to make this such a lovely evening.I know I go on but the kaimahi at this school are totally committed to our kura even when it means giving up their own family time to provide a special event for our school families.
