Marina had a brilliant idea to sit outside before school one morning to greet whanau as they walked into the school. It was freezing, the seats were wet and we looked like a couple of street ladies sheltering under the blanket that Dennis brought out for us.
Apart from the cold and humiliation it was a great way to connect with everyone as they walked in to start the day.
The best way to start TOD. Is with a shared breakfast.
According to some sources on social media, teachers do nothing on TOD. Not true!!. We had some excellent learning together about maths, writing, handwriting and reading. There’s so much to learn and it’s pressured learning because there are tight timelines according to our political leaders. As always our Kaiako take on the challenges and come up with amazing innovations and solutions.
Of course it’s always made more enjoyable by lashings of treats and a fabulous shared breakfast. Thank you Helen for your mastery at selecting groceries and getting them ready for us throughout the day with the help of our kaimahi.
