Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

I Like Coffee-Community Partnership

Ruth, Rata and Catherine arrived on Friday before school with the Major's coffee machine, fresh beans and home baking.
This is their way of supporting our local community and especially our school whanau. They made chai and coffee for a minimal fee to give parents a time to stop and chat and support each other. Their generosity means that our parents had time to make connections in the school and that has never been more important than now for families in Christchurch.
Sorry kids the baking is not for you!
Thanks with all our hearts to the mums who go out of their way to show they care. Aroha nui.

Arbor Day with Bill Earle

Our caretaker is a man in a million. He cares for us in our times of need (and we've had plenty of those lately) and he cares for the environment. The jumior school, known as the Pohutukawa Team helped Bill to plant new trees and shrubs  around the school. They were aided and abetted by the senior class. Thanks Bill and students for the ways in which you care for the school.

Winter tournament at Hagley Park

Danielle Capill bravely faces the weather each week at Hagley Park with her keen little team of soccer players. Our goalie is one of the best.
