Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

When I Grow Up School Production

 Wow. Woohoo. Yahoo and hallelujah.

Thank you Glen and team for the amazing production performance.

It was fantastic to see our children flourish. Who could forget the hapless plumber flushed down the loo, the heartless egotistic surgeon, doctor and nurse, the nerdy ICT blokes, her demanding dad and the rapping police officers?

No wonder poor Ashleigh couldn't settle on a future. Year 6 and you have to make a decision now??

Thank you for your support and for helping the children to learn the songs and script.

Celebration Of Success

Each year we celebrate the successes of our Māori and Pasifika students by sharing kai, awarding certificates and showcasing cultural expertise in music, dance and song. Oh what a night.

We had a fantastic time with lots of laughter and heartwarming moments.

I am so proud of our kaiako and other volunteers like Pauline and Roy who cooked the kai and served the community. The kai cookers have to be one of the best purchases we have made in the past few years. The food is delicious and cooks like hangi kai.

The brains behind the event are Lou and Nesa and we are always guided by their manaaki and willingness to go the extra mile for the tamatiki and their whanau. It is especially significant when all of the staff is so tired and we still have a long list of extra performances and evening events to organize and attend. I don't recall being at another school that goes so

Moana brought her fabulous Pineapple Pie.

The weather was so hot and sunny until the very last forkful of kai was eaten and then the rain rolled in. It was the fastest clean up we have ever executed. It was a wonderful night. Thank you to everyone who attended or performed and thank you to our beautiful kaimahi who  served our community in such a lovely way.
