Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

School leaders 2022

What a crazy time to try to establish and train student school leaders. I suspect that some of their jackets don't fit them because we have had to wait so long to give the jackets  to them.

Whaea Charlotte and Whaea Libby are the teacher leads in this initiative and it has been frustrating for them to try to organize a time to celebrate the children who were selected by their peers and teachers for these leadership roles.

PALs are Physical Activity Leaders and they organize games and activities and help get equipment organized. They are also going to be refereeing the dodgeball games in breaks. It's not as dangerous as it sounds as the children are learning very quickly that they need to play fair in order for the games to be fast and fun for everyone.

Our Student Leaders are a stand apart from their peers. They are recognized for their service to others and their willingness to model the school values.

Several of the children were away so they will receive their jackets at a later date.
