Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

PTA

Over the years there has been a small group of parents who work relentlessly to raise money to buy the things that we cannot afford in our budget. Last week Michelle, Lisa, Michelle and Deborah were at our school assembly to present seven laptops to our students. the children were very excited as the laptops have built in cameras and do everything except the cooking!
The money has been earned through hard work over the past 3 or 4 years; a little bit at a time.
Thank you so much for what you have done for us.
This weekend Michelle, Lisa and Michelle are attending the PTA conference. This was a real thrill for us to support as one of the board's strategic goals is around providing high quality professional learning for all of our school personnel.
I know they will come back fired up and ready to take on new challenges. The next biggy is the new playground for the school to which the board has already committed $20,000. We want a playground that has challenge and fun at the centre of its design. The students and staff will have opportunity to make suggestions about the ultimate design. I might even sneak down in the weekends to swing across the tyres and ropes! Yeah right!
