Marriene Langton Principal/Tumuaki
Tēnā koutou e te whanau. This is my 16th year as tumuaki of our lovely kura. I am one-eyed when it comes to providing the very best education for all of our tamariki, strong connections to whanau and applying attachment theory so every child has a champion adult at our school who believes in them unconditionally. I just can’t see past it. Our kaiako and kaiawhina go the extra 50 miles to give our children the best chances to succeed. My family is number one. After 20 years of camping holidays in Kaiteriteri, Graham and I are recidivist “glampers “ and ready for new adventures in our latest caravan. It’s brilliant when our family joins us too.

Fono Hui

We celebrate the unique and wonderful successes of our Pasifika and Maori students. Awards are academic, cultural values, sport performing arts and leadership. We thank all of our whanau for their partnership with us over the past year. Our Pasifika and Maori student achievement data is on a par with their pakeha cohort, which is exactly what we would expect.

We always have a little performance from our tamariki and maybe one day when we   have our new hall we will go back to the times when whanau would spontaneously perform for us all. Those evenings were magic.

Roy and his team cooked an absolutely delicious meal in the kai cookers. It takes hours and hours of work and it was very special to see families enjoying a fabulous feed together. Congratulations everyone for a truly brilliant year of successes.
